My paintings and prints translate this vision that I have with people in their urban environment, this space they built themselves and in which they evolve now.

Mes tableaux et estampes traduisent cette vision que j’ai des gens dans leur environnement urbain, cet espace qu’ils ont eux-même construit et dans lequel ils évoluent désormais.

Paradoxically this new urban environment produces its own aesthetic, completely different from that of the human body who stays bounded to the mother nature.

My artistic work combines the painting and the photography, in particular by extending the painted work by its “photography” via the print of linocut, an approach to pursue the core, until the abstraction.

Mon travail artistique combine la peinture et la photographie, notamment en prolongeant l’œuvre peinte par leur « photographie » via l’estampe de linogravure, une démarche poursuivant l’essentiel, jusqu’à l’abstraction.

Belaustegui is a French artist born in 1958, he shares his time between France and Colombia. Very early, still in high school, he was interested in photography and made his first artistic works by taking the subject of the urban environment of the suburbs of Paris, the region in which he lived. As a photographer, he went to Djibouti in the armed forces. After a very long interruption Belaustegui returned to his creative by experimenting with a technique of painting named “vivid line.” In the continuity of his undertaken work he adds the photographic expression with the technique of the linocut print.

Exhibitions of his paintings and prints are in Medellín and Paris. Belaustegui will open his gallery in Medellín in 2016.

Belaustegui est un artiste français né en 1958, qui vit en France et en Colombie. Très tôt, encore lycéen, il s’intéresse à la photographie et fait ses premières armes artistiques en prenant pour sujet l’environnement urbain de la région parisienne dans lequel il a grandit. C’est en tant photographe qu’il partira à Djibouti faire son service militaire. Après une très longue interruption Belaustegui revient à la création en expérimentant sa technique de peinture avec la «ligne vive». Dans la continuité de son travail entrepris il ajoute l’expression photographique avec la technique de l’estampe. 

Expositions de peintures et estampes à Medellín et Paris. Belaustegui ouvrira sa galerie à Medellín en 2016.
